GETTING STARTED...
1. You'll need an Internet connection, a PC and an active HSBC Bank International Limited bank account.
2. Register for Internet Banking online (it only takes a few minutes).
You'll be asked for the ten digit Personal Banking Number (PBN) and six digit PIN that you're given when you open an offshore account with us.
Your Personal Banking Number (PBN)
Your PBN is the 10-digit number allocated to you when you open an offshore account, or when you first apply for Internet Banking or Telephone Banking (you can do so by calling +44 1534 616000).
Your PBN allows us to uniquely identify you as a customer. You'll always need it to access Internet Banking or Telephone Banking.
Your Personal Identification Number (PIN)
Your PIN is the 6-digit number allocated to you when you open an offshore account, or when you first apply for Internet Banking or our automated Telephone Banking service (you can do so by calling +44 1534 616000). It's commonly called the Direct Banking PIN.
Only you know your PIN. It's not known by our staff in the bank and it must never be given to any other party, not even to a staff member.
How do I know it's safe to bank via the Internet?
We safeguard your online banking using 128-bit encryption, one of the most advanced security technologies available.
Encryption is a process that transforms sensitive information into a string of unrecognisable characters before they are sent over the Internet, and helps provide a secure channel for data transmission.
Your online security promise
We also offer a security guarantee: we'll refund any money taken from your account without your authority over the Internet Banking service (subject to the requirements set out in our Internet Banking Terms & Conditions, which you'll be presented with when you register).
Visit the HSBC Group's security site to see how together we can make banking online as secure as banking any other way.
